Team TAG Helps Boys and Girls Club of Venice Raise $200,000 for Club Improvements

Team TAG uses sales and people skills to help Boys and Girls Club of Venice raise money through a silent auction and raffle.

Oct. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- On Oct 5, 2012, the Boys and Girls Club of Venice hosted their 7th annual Champions for Youth Gala & Silent Auction at the Marriot Hotel in Marina del Rey.   The gala includes many facets such as a live/silent auction and award ceremony for celebrities giving back to the youth.  Every year, the event has been a much-anticipated event and this year it did not disappoint.  In the auction portion, there were big items being auctioned off like a weekend trip to New York, winery/spa packages, and signed memorabilia by sports legends like NBA champion Kobe Bryant and football legend Joe Montana.  Also Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, KC Green and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar were honored for their efforts in helping the youth of Los Angeles.

In the short 3 hours, nearly $200,000 was raised to support the Boys and Girls Club of Venice youth programming, which includes exposure to the arts and education/leadership development.  Much of its successes were from the 40 volunteers from Team TAG.  Team TAG volunteers helped tremendously during the silent/live auction portion of the event.  Their selling and strong interpersonal skills helped pummel the event to its great success.  Danielle Chi, the Development Director at Boys and Girls Club of Venice and the event coordinator of the night, says “the success of the event is largely thanks to our army of Team TAG volunteers who became our greeters, organizers, silent auctioneers, and sellers for the night.  If there was one team you want on your side, its Team TAG.”
