-- CLEVELAND, October 24th, 2012 – Garment Equipment (http://garmentequipment.com/)
has acquired the online community Screen Printers Open. This acquisition (http://www.youtube.com/
is key to Garment Equipment’s long term strategy of utilizing a social business platform to promote communication and provide business building resources. By inviting a team of experienced screen printing professionals to coordinate topics and answer fundamental member questions, it is Garment Equipment’s goal to offer a sense of informational unity within the industry.
“As cliché as it may sound, many entrepreneurs seem to be scrambling for the ‘golden ticket’ to improving their business,” said Jon Cryton, Director of Global Sales at Garment Equipment. “The search for reliable advice from industry craftsman, about successful business models, for information about equipment and where (http://www.garmentequipmentauction.com/
) to find the right equipment for their budget are among the top issues facing garment decorators today. Online forums have displayed different degrees of success in centralizing information across the country and around the world.”
With the acquisition of Screen Printers Open, Garment Equipment has found the platform that can potentially blend the crucial elements of information availability, professional methodology, and global community into a singular hub of resources. This concept of community design encourages forum members from multiple arenas of the industry to ask our expert panelists any question that may improve their business methods. “We are developing this project to redefine our role within the screen printing industry and in turn provide a venue for screen printers to connect and create a road map for the coming generations,”
The idea to acquire an online platform stemmed from discussions Cryton had with multiple garment decorators, various industry executives and their customers. “What I kept hearing were distressed voices of business owners who had been making due with a limited amount of resources available.” There are perhaps only a few helpful books on garment screen printing methodology and there is little confidence in the credibility of the scattered fragments of screen printing tips you might find online. When the opportunity to acquire Screen Printers Open presented itself, “I knew, that with a little help from the investors, Garment Equipment could turn this forum into something much more profound,” Cryton shared.
“The transaction happened much more quickly than we had originally anticipated. I knew from the start this would be a real evolutionary process.” Cryton continued, “I had hoped to keep the online ecosystem untouched during the transition; but in the changeover, we lost the moderators who kept the atmosphere welcoming. We plan to reach out to them individually, sometime over the next two weeks, as the project starts to take form.”
