The month of October is packed with walks, fundraisers and everything pink in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Don Lampert, an SEO Strategist at PCG, recently walked to raise awareness and money in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ.

Oct. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- Pink is everywhere during the month of October: on travel mugs, scarves, cookies, ribbons and even hair extensions. As we know by now, the color pink is to honor National Breast Cancer Awareness month. The team at PCG Digital Marketing is proud to show their support.

One of PCG Digital Marketing’s SEO Strategists, Don Lampert, participated in the 2012 Making Strides of Point Pleasant Beach Walk. Part of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, all proceeds from the walk will benefit the American Cancer Society.  More than 20,000 people gathered to walk along the Jersey Shore for this great cause.

Since the Making Strides walks began 20 years ago, the breast cancer death rates have declined by more than 32%. This is possible from all of the money raised from the walks, which goes to the American Cancer Society to fight the disease with research, information, services and access to mammograms.

The 2012 Making Strides of Point Pleasant Beach NJ Walk raised an unbelievable $1,180,000.

“It wasn’t until recently [when my good friend’s mom was diagnosed with breast cancer] that I had personally known someone with the disease,” explains Don. “It was great to participate in this walk and see the support and enthusiasm of the other walkers. It was a great experience and my girlfriend and I are happy we participated.”

This was Don’s first time walking in a breast cancer walk but is happy to have been involved with a cause that raises awareness and funds for necessary research. One of the great things about the walk is being able to walk along the beach on the boardwalk. People of all ages, and even dogs, gathered to walk sporting pink clothes and accessories.

The American Cancer Society’s Making Strides event has had incredible success since it first started in 1993. In that time, 8 million walkers have participated and have raised more than $460 million. It has been a tremendous effort and PCG Digital Marketing is dedicated to create a world with less breast cancer and more birthdays.
