Oct. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- On Friday 12th October the Blackpool Tower provided a spectacular backdrop for the finals of the *Great North West Care Awards, where the team from local social care provider Living Ambitions, based in Lostock Hall, Nr. Preston proudly took their places as a regional finalist.

Helen Livesey and Mo Hunstone Operation Managers for Living Ambitions were **nominated by their team under the ‘Putting people first/Personalisation Award’ Helen commented “ It was a complete shock to be put forward and being nominated as finalists was just an extra bonus!”

The gala award evening started in style with a champagne reception, followed by a superb gourmet dinner with an awards presentation by Julie Hesmond-Halgh and David Neilson (Roy and Hayley from Coronation Street!) and dancing into the night.

There were a total of nineteen award categories available for nomination, which represented all areas of the care sector, from older people or specialist services and from frontline staff such as care workers and care managers to people who have made an impact in other ways such as training and specialist care in areas such as dementia and innovation.

“Helen and Mo deservedly take their place as finalists” adds Robin Bush, Managing Director of Living Ambitions, “They have both worked with passion and skill to help develop and implement-putting individuals at the centre of their support planning and implementing our ‘Nothing happens about you, without you!’ guiding principle”

To get to the final, Helen & Mo were interviewed by panel of sector experts. “Reaching the Regional Final” adds Mo “Was just so rewarding and a recognition of the work the team and ourselves have done over the past 18 months to make  Living Ambitions a ‘Person Centred Organisation’ not only for the citizens we  care for but for the staff as well.”
