Valerie Pelan spoke at the September joint meeting of the Dallas Association of Business Economists and the DFW Real Estate Research Forum on “How to Effectively Manage and Communicate in the 4 Generational Workplace”.
Oct. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Ms. Pelan, MBA, PCC, President and Founder of Integrated Focus, brings over 20 years of management experience, 8 years of Executive coaching, and in-depth  research on employee motivation and generations to this presentation. Her perspective considers the influence that historical events have in shaping the attitude and behaviors of each generation. The recent financial crisis has affected career changes, retirements, transitions and other major decisions for all generations.

Ms. Pelan presented the “pain points” that each generation brings to the workplace and compared the generational attitude and approach for 9 workplace variables:  Loyalty, Organizational structure, Career options, Diversity, Leadership style, Technology, Feedback, Recognition, and Communication style.  The different generational perspectives create dynamic situations and challenges for leaders and managers when they consider employee retention and engagement.

Ms. Pelan works with leaders, managers and business owners on improved communication skills, ways to lead change, career transition options, and tools for better decision making.  Integrated Focus  provides a  Six Step Leadership development process, one-on-one and group coaching,  workforce analysis, team building with assessments - Myers Briggs, DISC - and personality assessments - Hogan, TriMetrixHD, and Winslow Behavioral Profile.
