Online technology brings something Nu to conference market
A newly-launched website is promising to revolutionise the way people organise, promote and attend events
Guests are able to purchase tickets via Facebook, where they can also invite their friends and download their tickets to a mobile phone, while door staff using an iPad or iPhone can scan a QR code included on the e-ticket to allow entry.
Organisers can use the dashboard technology to create guest lists and queue jumper options, which can be updated by appointed reps prior to the event date and managed by venue entry staff using the NuTickets.com app. The system can also be used to promote an event by adding promotional codes or conducting email, SMS and social media marketing.
Following the event, the technology allows organisers to compile reports on a range of data such as attendance figures, the age or gender of guests and the overall revenue generated.
Additional details, such as drink sales or supplier invoices can also be included in a profit and loss section, while organisers can use the information received to run personalised promotional activity.
Event staff can also use the site to review their duty rotas, while job applicants can complete application forms for specific roles.
Jose San Miguel, chief executive of NuTickets.com, said: “The way people come together is changing all the time, with social media and mobile devices now the norm rather than the exception.
“NuTickets.com embraces that trend and advances it several steps. For a relatively low cost, event organisers can now manage every consideration in one place, from inception and promotion through to ticket sales and event delivery, simply by using a laptop or tablet.
“Meanwhile, potential customers can access event details and tickets through the social media platforms they already use on a daily basis. The added functionality to invite friends, download tickets and scan them using an iPad saves time for guests and reduces cost for the organiser.
“Users can also opt for the more conventional method of buying via a website and having tickets or wristbands delivered to their door. This ability to adapt to different client needs allows the technology to be applied across all manner of music, cultural and corporate events.”

Established in 2011, Nutickets was devised in response to demand from the events sector for an online tool enabling them to have complete control of the sales, promotion and management of their event.
Nutickets founder and cloud technology specialist, Jose San Miguel, is highly experienced in online ticketing and events management, having worked for some of the leading names in the industry over the past decade.
The mission of NuTickets is to place the control of an event in the hands of the organiser, offering an affordable solution that is easy to use and interacting some of the biggest social media platforms to open the door to more event goers than ever before.
With a dedicated team of event technology experts sharing a passion for events, NuTickets is continuously developing the system to remain ahead of the curve.
Crucially, Nutickets does not hold any funds. Money generated from an event goes straight to the organiser, again ensuring they have complete control of all aspects of their event.
