-- Sanibel Captiva Art League invites artists to submit original artworks to be considered for the “Shadows and Reflections”
juried visual arts exhibit. BIG ARTS Phillips Gallery will display works in watercolor, oil, acrylic, mixed media, collage, sculpture, and original prints with “reflections and shadows.” Date to deliver entries for judging is Tuesday, December 4; exhibit open December 6 through January 12.
Judge for this exhibit is Dana Roes, Professor of Art at Edison State College. Roes holds her Master of Fine Art degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from Moore College of Art. She exhibits nationally and internationally and is the recipient of several awards, including a Fulbright Fellowship and New Jersey Council of the Arts Grant.
There will be a gallery lecture led by Roes Tuesday, December 4, at 2 p.m. A reception and awards ceremony will take place Friday, December 14, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Phillips Gallery. Awards will be given for First Place ($500), Second Place ($250), Third Place ($125), and four Merit Awards ($75 each). This exhibit is only accepting entries from members of any of the organizations in The Art Councils of Southwest Florida or members of the Sanibel Captiva Art League; artists may become a member during receiving.
