Omaha Military Heroes and Families Invited to Barn Party Oct 27

Oct. 22, 2012 - PRLog -- Horses4Heroes, one of the most successful equestrian support groups for the military is riding into Omaha with a free open house this Saturday, Oct. 27 at Victory Riding Academy, 4534 Madison Street, Omaha, NE, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.  All veterans, active duty military personnel, First Responders and their families are welcome to join in a fun-filled day including stick horse races, bobbing for apples, pumpkin carving, dinner and a special drawing.  

The Operation Free Ride open house in Omaha is part of a series of open houses throughout the Midwest and from coast to coast to introduce Horses4Heroes programs and their host facilities to local military heroes and their families.  Since the launch of Operation Free Ride on May 19, more than 2,700 have registered for their "free ride" via www.operationfreeride.com.  Horses4Heroes' Operation Free Ride is the largest collaboration of equestrian organizations and breed associations, uniting in support of the nation's troops, veterans, Wounded Warriors and families.   To date, there are 197 facilities in 43 states plus Canada.  

Founded in 2006 and based in Las Vegas, Horses4Heroes, Inc. is a non-profit organization that is making horseback riding affordable for and accessible to, the heroes and their families in communities from coast to coast.  Through a growing national network of kid-friendly, family friendly facilities, the organization provides able-bodied, affordable horseback riding programs that emphasize fun and safe activities with horses, mounted and un-mounted for all ages.  Participants learn valuable leadership and teamwork skills, make new friends, and develop a lifelong love of horses!  For more information visit www.horses4heroes.org.
