Deadly Secrets are Revealed in the Upcoming Mystery Novel by Lin Waterhouse

The history of the area fascinated her. She understood why the settlers came to the beautiful land with its primal forests and sparkling rivers and lakes. However, she wondered why they stayed to farm and ranch despite the region’s rocky clay soil and mercilessly fickle weather. What kept the people of the Ozarks as rooted to their land as the towering oaks that dominated the forests? Waterhouse seeks those answers and the curiosities of Ozark life through the research for her literary works.

As author of The West Plains Dance Hall Explosion (History Press, 2010), she explores the facts and fiction of the 1928 small-town tragedy that took the lives of 39 people, practically an entire generation of future leaders, in a never-explained explosion and fire.

In The Ghost of Timmy Wahl: Eternal Secrets at Hunter’s Mill (published by Mitchell Morris Publishing, release date June 2013), a young boy had been killed at the mill in a freak accident and his spirit will not cross over until certain issues have been rectified. Little Timmy Wahl has chosen Caroline to help him, no matter what the cost.

Waterhouse also writes for local and regional newspapers and magazines, focusing on the unique aspects of her adopted home.
