Oct. 22, 2012 - PRLog -- New York, NY  — To Redemption, a drama about a typical blue-collar family from Queens which faces an unthinkable tragedy, has been selected as the "Opening Night Feature" on November 14th at the Big Apple Film Festival.

The film, which was co-written by Queens native John Faughnan — who also is one of the stars — has already been setting the film festival world on fire and won numerous awards including:
• Best Screenplay - Boston Film Festival
• Best Narrative Feature - NYLA Int. Film Festival
• Best Director - NYLA Int. Film Festival
• Silver Ace Award - Las Vegas Film Festival

In addition to Faughnan, the film also stars James McCaffrey (Rescue Me and Revenge), Chris Riggi (Gossip Girl), Kathrine Narducci (The Sopranos), Christian Martin (Master and Commander and Pirates of the Caribbean), and Arben Bajaraktaraj (Harry Potter and The Order of Phoenix).  Chelsea Amoroso makes her feature film debut in the movie.

Perhaps most notable is the fact that To Redemption was also co-written and directed by Alexia Oldini (pictured at left), a driven 24-year-old from Milan, Italy. In her feature-film directorial debut, Ms. Oldini crafted a dark family drama — depicted both in storyline and mood — using no professional lighting equipment.  The movie was shot in Northern New Jersey (Dumont and River Vale) as well as Astoria and Rego Park, Queens and in the Bronx and Coney Island.  It was produced by Salvatore Collichio of Break of Dawn Motion Pictures, LLC.
