Oct. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- Former R & B Grammy Award winner Joe Simon (now Bishop Joe Simon and Second Presiding Bishop of the Mission Consortium of Churches International and Joe Simon Community Outreach) has completed his fast-moving trek across the Florida Panhandle to re-elect President Barack Obama in 2012 for “four more years.”  After touching down in Pensacola on Thursday, October 11 and holding a press conference the following day, Bishop Simon spoke again in Pensacola, and then visited historic DeFuniak Springs, Crestview, and Panama City.
Bishop Simon’s message has been consistent while meeting and greeting supporters and well-wishers as he encourages every eligible American citizen under the sound of his mighty voice to vote and support President Barack Obama in 2012 for re-election to another four-year term.  Why?  According to Bishop Simon, President Obama has good character and has demonstrated good leadership.  President Obama has supported equal pay for women, health care reform, education, creating a safety net for America’s auto industry (including thousands of auto workers), and much more.
On Sunday, October 15, 2012, Bishop Simon visited five Florida churches to campaign for the re-election of President Barack Obama.
Pensacola:
Bethel AME Church
Englewood Missionary Baptist Church
Zion Hope Primitive Baptist Church
Friendship Missionary Baptist Church

Panama City:
Greater Bethel AME Church

During his continued campaigning in the Florida Panhandle, Bishop Simon has received a number of requests to return and help address challenging issues that are being faced by various communities, especially issues involving youth and young adults. Traveling with Bishop Joe Simon and the Joe Simon Community Outreach were: Dr. Wayne Faunteroy, General Secretary/Administrator, Mission Consortium of Churches International (Chattanooga, Tennessee); Jerry Henderson, Senior Advisor to  Joe Simon Community Outreach; Ms. Clorissti Mitchell;  Brother Ellison Bennett (Escambia County Democratic Executive Committee), Dr. Rufus Wood, Jr., Love Center Missionary Baptist Church (Panama City, Florida) and District Moderator;  Mr. Jerome Gray (Evergreen, Alabama), Alabama Field Director, Barack Obama for President (2008); and Mr. Maverick Roberts (Pensacola, Florida/Montgomery, Alabama), Field Organizer.
