TNT Express in Sri Lanka named the Official Courier Partner for the Annual Autism Charity Walk

Oct. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- Colombo, Sri Lanka, 17th October, 2012-TNT Express in Sri Lanka has been named the official courier partner for the annual Autism Charity Run / Walk event, which was held on 13th of October 2012 at the Independence Square in Colombo.
The charity walk was organised by the non-profit organisation Colour my world in order to create awareness about Autism and to raise funds for the introduction of the Son-Rise Programme in Sri Lanka. This programme helps in creating a bridge between Autistic children and their environment.
Autism is a developmental disorder that affects children’s social and communication skills. There are about 40,000 children diagnosed with Autism in Sri Lanka.
Jerome Brohier, Country General Manager for TNT Express in Sri Lanka and the Maldives Islands stated: “Many children in Sri Lanka suffer from Autism, but need specialised programme to help them reconnect with the world. We are very happy to be able to support the Colour my world association to bring the Son-Rise programme to our country. TNT Express is not only associated with delivering documents, goods and freight, but with many social initiatives where we are keen to give back to the communities in which we operate.”

TNT Express in Sri Lanka recently donated chairs to a rural school in the Maha Vidyla region. The donation was an initiative led by TNT Express in Sri Lanka in cooperation with the Sri Lankan Community in Australia and The Rotary Club of Rowville-Lysterfield.
Volunteers from TNT Express in Sri Lanka helped the students carry the new chairs into their classrooms and took part in several activities with the school's teachers and students
