SIGVARIS Century & Fall Harvest Festival Event to Raise Money for Camp Southern Ground

The global leader in graduated compression therapy, SIGVARIS, and Atlanta Trek are teaming up for a bike ride and fall festival to raise money to support the mission of Camp Southern Ground.
Oct. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- SIGVARIS and Atlanta Trek are teaming up for a bike ride and fall festival on Oct. 27, 2012 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The event kicks off at SIGVARIS (located at 1119 Highway 74 South in Peachtree City) and is open to the public. All proceeds from the event will benefit Camp Southern Ground.

Camp Southern Ground is being built on 500 acres in Fayette County and will provide a state-of-the-art facility that will serve children ages 7-17, with both typical and special needs. The camp is the passion project of Grammy Award winning artist Zac Brown and will be a place where children of diverse abilities, socio-economic backgrounds, races and religions  can all come together to learn life skills and encourage personal growth in a positive, healthy and organic environment.

Through the SIGVARIS Century and Fall Harvest Festival businesses and members of the community are coming together to help raise money to support Camp Southern Ground. The event organizers believe this inaugural event will become one that takes place every year due to the communities overwhelming response.

The bike ride will give riders the option of participating in a 35-mile, 65-mile or 100-mile ride across some of the most scenic roads in Fayette, Coweta and surrounding counties. There is also a family-friendly one-mile ride, run or walk.

The Fall Harvest Festival will include local craft vendors, food, games for kids, music, a kids Halloween costume contest, pumpkin painting and more.

“It’s clear from the number of people and businesses who want to be part of this event how important the mission of Camp Southern Ground is to the people in our community,” says Jean Peck, Executive Director at Camp Southern Ground. “It’s exciting to see people coming together to support the dream of building this camp that will benefit so many children.”
