“OSC” from Washington D.C. Claim Title at WAKA's World Kickball Championship Founders Cup®
DC team becomes the most winningest adult kickball team in WAKA history
“OSC” defeated “The Situation” from Norfolk, VA 4-2, keeping the Founders Cup trophy on the East Coast for another year. With this win, “OSC became the most winningest team in WAKA history with three titles to date.
The 15th annual World Kickball Championship Weekend Founders Cup tournament, presented by WAKA Kickball and Social Sports (WAKA), took place on Saturday, October 6 at Desert Breeze Park in Las Vegas, where 64 teams from all corners of the United States converged to compete for the title of world kickball champions. Each team punched their tickets for Vegas by being of the best in its local leagues.
“WAKA congratulates ‘OSC on winning one of the most prestigious titles in social sports,” said Jimmy Walicek, co-founder of WAKA. “The World Kickball Championships is all about competition, camaraderie and most importantly, fun times. And what’s more fun than a trip to Vegas and the opportunity to claim top bragging rights and more than $20,000 in cash and prizes?”
In addition to the competitive tournament, WAKA also hosted The Kickball Games, – a fun, less competitive pool play event. More than 30 fun-loving kickball teams took the ‘social’ field vying for a variety of coveted titles. In the end, the following teams emerged victorious:
• Best Costumes: Victorious Secret
• Best Team Performance:
• Best Team Social Media: Plastered Penguins
• Player's Choice (from voting): Milf & Cookies
• Life of the Party: Team Zissou
