Oct. 16, 2012 - PRLog -- The art of massage is one that has long been heralded by spa-goers as a potent, luxurious form of relaxation and pampering.  However, there is an emerging group of therapists in this industry who encourage individuals to not only consider massage therapy as a way to relax, but also as a means to heal, treat chronic pain and promote overall health.  Robert K. Vincent, Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist and American College of Sports Medicine exercise instructor, is one of those forward-thinking health professionals.

Vincent, an experienced licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist and personal trainer has been practicing for more than 25 years.  He established Advanced Massage and Bodywork in 2008, and originally operated his practice in Lake Wylie at Lifestyle Physical Therapy.  Eventually the business moved to its current flagship location inside Club Fitness in the Steele Creek area of Charlotte.  He also currently serves as the Fitness Director at the River Hills Country Club.

Today, Vincent is pleased to announce the return of Advanced Massage and Bodywork to the Lake Wiley community.   The company, which is unveiling its new office in the River Hills Marina Club, extends an invitation the public to a grand opening and open house.  Scheduled for Saturday, October 27, 2012, the meet and greet will run from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  Guests at the event will receive an introduction to massage therapy.

Vincent believes the location for the additional studio is an intuitive fit for the area as a whole.  “I have been working with [River Hills] members, golf and tennis players, athletes and those interested in maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle.  My hybrid practice includes varied therapeutic massage modalities, assisted stretching and active exercise tailored to each client’s needs.”

Advanced Massage and Bodywork clients are taught that massage is not only a tool for preventive maintenance, but it is also a highly effective alternative approach to pain relief.  “I am eager to introduce this model of restorative therapy to those who may view massage only as a form of relaxation you receive at a day spa. It’s my goal to teach folks that it is an effective method of achieving better health and wellness, and not simply a luxury.”

Vincent’s skills were first showcased in the local Lake Wylie/South Charlotte community when he served as the team therapist and trainer for the Champions Tennis Tour at the Palisades Country Club.   He provides massage therapy for a diverse clientele of professional and amateur athletes from a variety of sports including members of the Carolina Panthers NFL football team, and players on the PGA tour. “There may be a common misconception that therapeutic massage applies only to elite athletes,” remarked Vincent.  “But that couldn’t be farther from the truth.  Massage benefits everyone; athletes, non-athletes and even weekend warriors!”

Vincent emphasizes that the new studio, while located physically in the River Hills community, does not exclusively serve only homeowner’s association or country club members.  “Everyone is welcome and I am eager to meet people from all over Lake Wylie and beyond,” smiled Vincent.

An introduction to massage therapy will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the open house on October 27, 2012.  Vincent encourages all local residents to stop by Advanced Massage & Bodywork to learn more about the benefits of incorporating massage into a well-balanced health and wellness regimen.
