BIG ARTS Community Band Resumes Practice October 22

Oct. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Community Band Director Don Knowland invites musicians to join the band. The group rehearses at 6:30 p.m. Monday nights from October through April, starting October 22. Band rehearsals will be held at Saint Michaels and All Angels Episcopal Church, located at 2304 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.

The Community Band will perform highlights from The King and I, Commando March, The Walking Frog, Victory At Sea, and Overture for Winds, and other favorites in their Holiday Concert on Tuesday, December 11 at BIG ARTS.

Community Chorus practices Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. at BIG ARTS. No auditions are required for the Band or Chorus, and all are welcome to join. Rehearsals run weekly from October through April.

The Community Chorus Holiday Concert will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, December 6. They plan to sing holiday favorites, including a “Christmas on Broadway” medley, and selections from Handels’ Messiah. They will also perform Winter Wonderland, Hanukkah Night, and Let It Ring, Let It Swing, Let It Snow. dkiyt
