Financial Planning Association Awards Distinguished Service Honors to Local NJ Planners

The Financial Planning Association awarded its Heart of Financial Planning Award to Reed Fraasa CFP®, AIF®, RLP®, president of Highland Financial Advisors LLC, Riverdale NJ and Omega Hartman CFP®, owner of Omega Financial Management, Cranford NJ.
Oct. 15, 2012 - PRLog -- The annual award is given in recognition of individuals, financial planning firms, FPA chapters, or organizations who engage in extraordinary work, contributing and giving back to the financial planning community and public through financial planning.  Recipients embody the spirit of financial planning and also represent FPA’s Core Values.

Reed Fraasa, CFP®, AIF®, RLP® was recognized as a volunteer with a unique ability to bring leaders and committees together to achieve goals.  Fraasa was instrumental in establishing financial literacy education for the public as a local FPA chapter (FPANJ) goal, and developed relationships and project participation with local legislators and organizations supporting financial literacy.

Omega Hartman, CFP® has been in the forefront of establishing financial literacy and pro bono programs locally.  She had led school projects, military programs and Financial Planning Day events in Newark and Elizabeth to great success.  Her ability to conceptualize and implement financial literacy programs has helped FPANJ be recognized as a leader in financial literacy throughout the country.  She currently serves on FPA’s national Pro Bono Advisory Council.

The awards were presented in a ceremony at the FPA Experience 2012 symposium in San Antonio, TX.
