-- IT spending on products and services in Asia Pacific is expected to exceed over US$367 billion in 2012, and forecasted to grow remarkably in years to come and its a reflection of government IT expenditure which is holding up well. Keep it simple; today's governments are looking at technology to facilitate better governance.
Leading governments in the region have continually set out bold e-government and modernization visions to ensure the strategic sustainability of their economies.
E-governance initiatives have created quite an opportunity for solution providers operating in the public sector vertical. Looking ahead, governments will continue to invest and explore online and mobile technologies. In addition to websites and portals, governments have to address the increasing number of citizens who are looking for information via their connected or smart devices.
The investment is also driven by growing security concerns and higher Cloud adoption in view of the increasing volume of information which the public sector has to deal with, coupled with a country's growing population and increasing connectivity of its people to access public information and services.
