Oct. 11, 2012 - PRLog -- LAWRENCE, KS – Grandstand Sportswear and Glassware is excited to announce the launch of their new recycling initiative. The company’s continued investment in environmental suitability is reaching a new chapter as they partner with the City of Lawrence, Kansas and Ripple Glass of Kansas City, MO to participate in the new program.

According to the US Renewable Energy Association using a recycled glass creates 50% less water pollution and 20% less air pollution than creating glass from new materials.
Through this program Grandstand will be able to recycle 100% of their scrap glassware and reduce their landfill usage by at least 50%.

“We are all aware of the fact that we create a significant amount of glass, plastic and corrugate waste in this industry. It makes sense to recycle from an environmental perspective and from an economic perspective.” Grandstand Operations Manager, Chad Bryan said.

In addition to recycling glass, Grandstand is working with VIM Recyclers of Kansas City, MO, to recycle all of their plastic, corrugate and paper in the coming weeks.
