Pebble Tossers® Kicks Off Annual Fundraising Efforts with Benefit Dinner and Awards Ceremony

Oct. 11, 2012 - PRLog -- Atlanta, GA – Pebble Tossers Inc., a nonprofit youth service organization committed to igniting a passion for volunteerism in youth and families by matching their talents and abilities with the needs of their community, is inviting the community to their Annual Fund Kickoff, which supports youth and family volunteerism in Atlanta.  The “Start a Ripple” benefit dinner will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at the King Plow Arts Center. The evening will include heavy appetizers, libations, music, and raffle games. Karyn Greer, 11 Alive news anchor, will MC the event.

Proceeds from the event will support the group’s Annual Fund which enables them to provide additional resources to nonprofit partners and continue to provide thousands of local youth ages 4-18 with fun, age-appropriate service projects and volunteer opportunities.

The Annual Youth of the Year award will be announced during the Start a Ripple Benefit. This award promotes good citizenship, a desire for the greater good of his/her community, and the development of well-rounded personalities. Recipients of the Pebble Tossers’ Youth of the Year award exemplify the following characteristics:  Commitment to community service, Leadership ability, Compassion and respect for others, Humility, and a Fun-loving spirit.
   
“Last year an average of 1000 Atlanta families a month – equating to 3,000 volunteers – actively used Pebble Tossers as their primary resource to find volunteer opportunities,” offered Jen Guynn, Co-Founder and Executive Director.  “We are thrilled with our results but eager to expand our reach.  This event is not only fun, it provides us with the financial means to offer these services to the youth of metro Atlanta.”

Tickets are $50 for entry, which includes catering from Mexican/Korean fusion specialists Takorea. Souvenir beverage cups are $15 for beer, wine and sodas.  $10 raffle tickets are available.
