"It is a great honor to receive the Digital Vanguard Award from Women's Interactive for my work to bridge the digital divide with Black Girls CODE,” said Kimberly Bryant, Founder of Black Girls CODE. “Our mission at Black Girls CODE is so closely aligned with the Women's Interactive teams vision of broadening participation in the digital technology space by supporting women and girls in developing the skills needed to become tech visionaries and leaders in the 21st Century. We are thrilled to support their conference and humbled to be recognized for the unique work we are doing with girls to "change the equation" in STEM fields."

Following the Digital Vanguard awards event on Friday night, Bryant will host her second Atlanta Black Girls CODE Workshop on Saturday, October 13th from 10am – 3pm at Spelman College. During the workshop, girls ages 7-18 will learn how to build their own unique webpage. With the use of fun games and activities the girls will be introduced to HTML, CSS and basic web structure.
