AVANCE Hosts National Philanthropic Funding Organization
New Profit Inc., a national philanthropic funding organization based out of Cambridge, MA, has chosen AVANCE (ah-vahn-ceh), a nationally acclaimed Parent-Child Education nonprofit, to join their portfolio of organizations.
Kim Syman, Managing Partner, will be visiting AVANCE’s national headquarters in San Antonio on Thursday and Friday, October 11-12th. Syman, who oversees New Profit’s policy and convening strategies, will be meeting with key AVANCE staff members during her two day visit. “New Profit is delighted to have AVANCE as a portfolio partner,” said Syman. “We’ve made a significant commitment of financial and intellectual capital to support the development and growth of AVANCE and appreciate the opportunity to be a close strategic partner. I’m looking forward to getting to know the organization and the members of the communities it serves through my visit, and am excited to work with AVANCE to achieve their vision of living in a world where children and parents can advance to their full potential.”
Since 1973, AVANCE has continued to provide innovative education and family support services to predominantly Hispanic families in low-income, at-risk communities. Dedicated to promoting school readiness and supporting family engagement, AVANCE proudly serves as a national model and best practice of early childhood education for parents, teachers, the scientific community and general public.
In 2010, with a $12.6 million grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, AVANCE created the Unlocking America’s Potential Project (UAPP) to expand their evidence-based Parent-Child Education Program across the United States.
Next fiscal year, AVANCE celebrates its 40th Anniversary with several events including hosting its National Parent-Child Education Conference. For more information, sponsorship and exhibit opportunities please contact mjohnson.nat@
