Oct. 8, 2012 - PRLog -- Writing my book A Life in Orbit: A Biography in Verse was a big challenge. I had to try something new that as far as I know hadn’t been attempted – to revisit my past – as a record in verse.

I had to transform a narrative style into verse, to remember my life in detail from my earliest memories to the present day, to re-live traumas, to record and detail disappointments, loss, frustrations and defeats. I had to develop a consecutive sequence of events and be completely honest and true to myself, and to all the others involved in my journey. And after all this, to retain the discipline of four-line stanzas in order to create a comprehensive, 11-part autobiographical poem.

In my first book of poetry and prose, The Learning Process, I explored many themes. For my second book, A Life in Orbit, I was determined to try something novel and new. It was daunting because I had to return to my past and translate my thoughts and memories into the discipline of words, lines and verses. I wrote truthfully and without embellishment. I have suffered in my life, but I have also triumphed. Here is my story in verse.
