Follow on Google News | Innovative Upcycled Jewelry Designer Jennifer Partridge of Looking Glass Lane Launches WebsiteJennifer Partridge, founder of Looking Glass Lane eco-friendly jewelry and creator of a unique patented process turning photographs into wearable pieces of art, launched her website on October 1st, 2012 in Raleigh, NC.
Partridge explained, “As Looking Glass Lane continues to grow and expand throughout the United States I wanted customers to have the option of purchasing my upcycled jewelry and home decorations directly from me. Also, many people are searching for unique gifts and I work with clients to customize pieces to suit their needs. For example, a woman lost her partner and asked me to design a pendant for her and angel ornaments for his daughters. I collaged several photographs together bringing depth and vibrancy to each piece. As a final touch I used the wire-wrapping as an extension of his fishing line framing each piece. She wears her necklace every day.” She continued, “I also created a pendant for a woman who wanted a piece to remember her horse; she wanted something that captured his essence. I completed the necklace by wrapping some of his mane through the wire frame.” Partridge designed a patented process to use professional photographs and re-use materials to create eco-friendly jewelry and home decorations. “I wanted to combine my love of photography, repurposing materials, and design to create one-of-a-kind pieces that are conversation starters. After closing my professional photography business to become a stay at home mom, I returned to making mix media art which eventually became Looking Glass Lane.” You can find out more about Jennifer Partridge by visiting her blog which can be found on Looking Glass Lane's website under more information. Her blog features pictures of her upcycled jewelry made from reuse glass as well as her musings on the life of an artist. “I want people to see my passion as well as learn about my life. My heart and soul are in every piece I craft and I want people to see that.” Looking Glass Lane recently participated in jewelrySPARK in Raleigh, NC, on September 14, 2012. jewelrySPARK highlighted Raleigh’s most stunning jewelry designers.
