Oct. 5, 2012 - PRLog -- Activists and speakers from all areas of the disability community will gather at the Harrisburg Capitol to express their opinions on the recently proposed cuts made to the Medicaid budget. Throughout the day which starts at 12 noon, there will be entertainment, voter registration and resource tables, a press conference, and the rally. The day will conclude with lobbying sessions with legislators where information regarding this matter will be distributed.
“We are so excited about this rally that ADAPT has organized. We believe that all disability groups should come together to fight for healthcare benefits that are necessary for people with disabilities. Medicaid is imperative and a lifeline to many of us. We hope the governor and other legislators will take what we are saying to heart. ”, said Maureen Devaney, co-executive of Vision For Equality, a non-profit providing support for people and families living with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities.
