Oct. 5, 2012 - PRLog -- Atlanta, Georgia – October 2, 2012 - A new smartphone app has just been released by
Ziliq that catalogues information on the indicators, treatment of and medication options
for epilepsy. Ziliq, a company dedicated to providing extensive information to medical
providers about the treatment and diagnosis of medical disorders, has created the app in
conjunction with the developers at AppedOn, a mobile app company. Written by three
pediatric neurologists practicing at Miami Children’s Hospital in Miami, the Epilepsy
Treatment app is a mobile reference tool designed expressly for people with epilepsy,
healthcare providers and those in allied health fields involved in the care of patients with
epilepsy.

The app is based on the book The Treatment of Epilepsy, by renowned epilepsy
specialists Marcel J. Deray, Trevor Resnick and Pablo Caballero. Now in its’ third
edition, the book serves as a source of clinical information for neurologists,
neurosurgeons and other professionals who work to treat epilepsy. Co-creator Marcel
Deray specifies the purpose of the app, saying “the ZILIQ Epilepsy Treatment App puts
extensive information about the treatment of Epilepsy in one place, that can be accessed
immediately when the need occurs. It also provides practical clinical information about
epileptic syndromes, the treatment of status epilepticus and examples of typical EEGs.”
The Epilepsy Treatment app was designed to bring all available information together in
one place and make it easy to cross reference medications, classifications and medical
references. It contains multiple features, including a searchable list of medications by
generic and brand names, as well as potential side effects. The app can also be used to
browse seizure and syndrome classifications, giving the user more tools to diagnose and
treat epilepsy.

The Epilepsy Treatment app is already available in Google Play and App Stores for
download. Ziliq is encouraging anyone who lives with epilepsy or works with epileptic
patients to utilize the app as a treatment and research tool. For more information, please
