Oct. 4, 2012 - PRLog -- The Undead Candidate, Episode 1 of The Cord Wheaton Saga, a zombie short story series by J Gerard Michaels that mixes romance, humor, and zombies with socio-political commentary, has been published by Soul Attitude Press.

The adventure begins for St. Petersburg detective Cord Wheaton as he is assigned to cover a political convention for the new Undead Party. An avid movie fan, Wheaton frequently ties movies to the situations he finds himself in.

In this first episode he meets a woman who becomes his new love while coming face-to-face with zombies for the first time. He has to deal with a police department that is skeptical and appears to be setting him up with a practical joke initiation.

The monthly series will develop the hard-luck in love detective's realization of his true calling in life as he digs into the mystery of the origin of the undead.

All venues and locations used in the stories are real. Characters depicted in the story have no basis in nor relation to any persons living, dead, or undead.

Available on Amazon.com, BN.com, Kobobooks.com and other online retailers as well as the author’s website.
