Camp Jorn YMCA: The Little YMCA Camp that Could

Camp Jorn YMCA celebrating independence, growth, and 60 years of mission driven programs impacting the lives of children and families of Lake County, IL.
Oct. 4, 2012 - PRLog -- Manitowish Waters, WI -- Next year marks Camp Jorn YMCA celebrating its 60th year of operation.  Camp Jorn, or CJ as it is affectionately called by its alumni, is a resident camp located in the breathtaking north woods of Wisconsin off of Rest Lake surrounded by the Northern Highland Forest.  Since 1953 Camp Jorn has had thousands of children cross through its gates, forever changed by the values instilled and the lessons they learned there.

If Camp Jorn sounds familiar to you it’s because it once was owned by the Lake County Family YMCA from 1952 - 2007.  Today, Camp Jorn is an independent YMCA facility, recognized and chartered through the YMCA of the USA.  We have been serving the families of Lake County since our beginnings and majority of our campers still come from within the area.  We are committed to stay focused on the families of Lake County and share the magic and lessons that Camp Jorn has to offer.

Camp Jorn YMCA doesn’t just offer resident camp.  We provide childcare for the surrounding communities.  Day camp is offered for children ages 4 through 12.  Family camp is hosted twice during the summer season.   We welcome rental groups of all sizes to our facility from late August through May.  Check out our website to learn more at, or call us at (715)-543-8808.

Our mission is for all who engage in Camp Jorn YMCA experiences to recognize and develop value in themselves and in the world around them.
