Oberon Enclosures Compatible with the New Cisco Aironet 2600 and 3600 Wireless Access Points

The body form factor of the new 2600 and 3600 series access points is very similar to the form factor of the 1140 and 3500 series access points. Oberon enclosures designed for and around the Cisco platform are suitable for all Cisco enterprise access points. Existing customers currently using Oberon enclosures and mounting solutions will find migrating to the new access points easy and convenient.
As the demand for wireless solutions for consumer devices grows, driven not only by pure data demands but also the increasing number of devices people use daily, securing the equipment needed to create a robust wireless network becomes increasingly important. Verticals such as retail, healthcare, and government have specified requirements for physical security. Oberon enclosures meet this physical security need with aesthetic enclosures for suspended ceilings, hard-lid ceilings, walls, and challenging outdoor environments.
Oberon recommends its popular Model 1052 universal access point enclosure for suspended ceiling installations. The Model 1052 is a UL listed, locking, 2’ X 2’ ceiling tile enclosure suitable for use in the air handling space. It conveniently mounts and secures the Cisco 2600 as well as the 1140, 1260, 3500 and 3600 series access points. The 1052 features interchangeable doors to accommodate access points with body integrated antennas, or, a variety of external antennas.
Also recommended for drop ceiling installations are Models 1064-00, 1064-T (for tegular-style ceilings), and 1068-00.
Recommended enclosures for hard-lid ceiling and wall installations include Models 1030-00, 1032-00, and for those preferring a clear cover, the 1032-C. The Model 1029-00 Right-Angle Wall Bracket provides an alternative for wall-mounting access points in the preferred horizontal orientation. NEMA 4X Models 1021-00 and 1026-00 are appropriate for use outdoors or in challenging environments. The Model 1082-00 Network Cabinet is ideal for office environments, making it possible to mount access points, routers, and other network equipment together in a wall cabinet in the space where they are needed. The CCOAPI-SKIN is a black plastic, paintable, form-fitting skin for customizing the color of the access point for any decor.
