Early Stage East Announces Presenting Companies

Oct. 3, 2012 - PRLog -- PHILADELPHIA, PA  – Influential venture capital conference, Early Stage East (ESE), announces the 25 companies who will be presenting at its commemorative 15th Anniversary Venture Capital Conference on Thursday, October 4th at the Down Town Club in Philadelphia, PA.  

“I still remember the first Early Stage East conference as if it were yesterday,” stated David J. Freschman, ESE chairman and founder.  “To watch this community grow and aide hundreds upon hundreds of early-stage and emerging companies in the last 15 years is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit and the longing for innovative deals in the investment community.”

This year’s ESE conference will highlight 25 of the most promising and ground-breaking companies in the Internet, Social Media and Social enterprise arenas.  The event will feature the popular ‘Club Pitch’ format where 25 companies will have between 2-7 minutes to present their best business pitches to more than 60 of the top venture capitalists and angel investors on the East Coast.  

Michael Chasen, CEO of global education-technology leader BlackBoard, will serve as the keynote speaker at the milestone conference and ABC Shark Tank co-star and famed entrepreneur Daymond John will moderate the pitch sessions.

Two special awards will also be presented; Blackboard, one of the first companies to present at ESE 15 years ago and raise funding through their participation, will be awarded the ‘Legendary Alumni Award’, while entrepreneurship hub the University City Science Center will be bestowed with the ‘Sal Bucccieri Memorial Venture Impact Award’.
