The Marketing Alliance Announces 2012 James Stewart Scholarship Recipients
The Marketing Alliance (TMA), one of the largest organizations providing support to independent insurance brokerage agencies, recently announced the 2012 James Stewart Scholarship. Each recipient received a $5,000 scholarship.
Earlier this year, TMA announced the formation of the James Stewart Scholarship Fund, in memory of James Stewart, formerly of Charlotte, NC, a co-founder and original director of TMA, for children of employees of agencies affiliated with TMA.
The 2012 James Stewart Scholarship recipients are:
· Jesus Cabrera – He is attending Del Mar College located in Corpus Christi, Texas, and is the son of Arjelia Cabrera, who works at BBA Life Brokerage located in Corpus Christi, TX. Cindy Gentry is the principal of BBA Life Brokerage.
· Justin King – He is attending the University of Memphis located in Memphis, TN, and is the son of Rena Sue King, who works at Agency Services. Jack Dewald is the principal of Agency Services.
· Andrew Mueller – He is attending Richard Stockton College located Galloway, NJ, and is the son of Mary Mueller, who works at Elite Brokerage located in Warwick, RI. Anthony Scibetta is the principal of Elite Brokerage.
Each year, TMA will award $15,000 in scholarships to children of TMA distributorship employees who meet the criteria established by the James Stewart Scholarship committee and who are judged most deserving by the scholarship selection committee.
Selection of the scholarship recipients will be made on the basis of applicants the judges feel most distinguish themselves by the attributes that exemplified the life of James Stewart. Some of those qualities include citizenship, entrepreneurship, scholarship, accomplishment, vision, and quest for self- improvement.
