Universities From Across State Compete in Student Automotive Engineering Autocross

On Sunday, October 14 at the Central Florida Racing Complex in Orlando the University of South Florida Formula SAE team, accompanied by seven other Florida university teams, will be competing against each other in the first Florida SAE Invitational.
Oct. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- There will be 10 vehicles and approximately 128 students attending. The list of university’s attending is: University of South Florida, University of Central Florida, University of North Florida, University of Florida, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Florida Atlantic University and Florida Institute of Technology.

Gates will open at 8:00 a.m. and the event will start off with a driver’s meeting and course walk at 9:00 a.m. At 9:30 a.m., the course will be open for driving. There is no exact ending time. The address for the Central Florida Racing Complex is 10694 Cosmonaut Blvd., Orlando, FL 32824

Formula SAE is an international competition in which students design and fabricate a racecar from the ground up within the span of a year. Teams then compete with one another in events across the globe. In June of this year, the team had competed in three competitions in Michigan, Canada, and Nebraska. The team has placed in the top 4 and top 10 in the most recent competitions.
