Oct. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- AUBURN, Indiana (Oct. 2, 2012) – Auctions America by RM continues its busy Fall calendar of events this week with the return of its annual Fall Carlisle Collector Car Auction, Thursday, Oct. 4, to Friday, Oct. 5 in Carlisle, Penn. A fall tradition for global collectors, the two-day sale will lift the gavel on more than 300 classics, hot rods, exotics and muscle cars at the Carlisle Expo Center. The auction is held in conjunction with the Fall Carlisle Collector Car Swap Meet & Corral (Oct. 3-7), hosted each year by Carlisle Events.

“We’re excited about the fantastic roster of collector cars that will be available at Carlisle this weekend,” said Auctions America by RM’s President Donnie Gould. “Our joint efforts with the Carlisle Events team this year have created memorable experiences for everyone who loves this hobby. The Fall Carlisle auction is a ‘must-see’ sale with a range of incredible buying opportunities for savvy collectors, as well as providing a host of great entry-level collectibles for those new to the hobby. With more than 150 acres of memorabilia, cars and parts, enthusiasts will be able to find exactly what they desire.”

Headlining a superb roster of automobiles secured for this weekend’s sale are three ultra-rare 1960 Dodge Dart Phoenix Two-Door Hardtop Sedans. With just 17,000 miles on its odometer, the first of the trio is a 1960 Dodge Dart Phoenix Two-Door Hardtop, one of only 41 Phoenix two-door hardtops featuring a 361-cid V-8 engine. This example was featured in numerous collector and muscle car magazines, calendars and cards, and signed on the air cleaner and trunk lid by legendary drag racer Bill "Maverick" Golden after he made it his “celebrity pick” at the 1997 Carlisle All Chrysler Nationals (est. $70,000 - $80,000).

The second 1960 model year Phoenix slated for this weekend’s Carlisle auction block, a 1960 Dodge Dart Phoenix D-500 Two-Door Hardtop, one of just 562 examples produced with a 383-cid V-8 engine. Boasting a number of special options, including a unique optional “Cantilever Sweep” paint scheme highlighting the roof line, it also features tinted glass, swivel bucket seats, dual transistor radio with twin rear antennas and stainless fender skirts (est. $70,000 - $80,000).

The trio of Dodge Dart Phoenix’s is rounded out by a 1960 Dodge Dart Phoenix Two-Door Hardtop with a local Pennsylvania link. Special ordered by Bob Blouch from Zartman Dodge in Lititz, Penn., it features the Police Package, not offered to the public. One of only six vehicles equipped with a 383-cid high-performance engine, it also sports a heavy-duty Borg-Warner T85 manual transmission, 4:10 sure grip rear end, strong brakes, suspension and wheels (est. $45,000 - $55,000).

Among a long list of other notable entries for the sale are:

-   a beautifully restored 1958 Chrysler 300D Convertible (est. $100,000 - $110,000), one of less than 20 examples of its kind;
-   a stunning 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham (est. $70,000 - $90,000), reported to be one of only 27 finished in Lake Placid Blue and sporting a brushed stainless steel roof with medium-blue interior and blue mouton sheepskin carpeting;
-   a 1950 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible (est. $40,000 - $60,000), recipient of a comprehensive frame-off restoration;
-   a ‘Corvette for a Cause’, a 1985 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe with 100 percent of proceeds benefitting the Chip Miller Charitable Foundation; and
-   a special assortment of 25 automobiles from a private collection, offered at ‘no reserve’. The group has a strong emphasis on pre-war automobiles, including a 1911 Reo Truck, a 1920 Pan, a 1923 Ford Touring, and a 1926 Ford Model T Roadster among others.

Auction previews will be held on Thursday, Oct. 4 and Friday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. ET – 3 p.m. ET with the auction excitement getting underway from 3 p.m. ET each day. Tickets are available for $10, which will allow visitors to access the auction and the events taking place at the nearby Carlisle PA Fairgrounds, such as the swap meet and car corral.
