-- The World of Wheels for CASA will be held on October 13 at High Point High School in Beltsville from 11am-2pm with a special CASA Champions hour from 10am-11am. General admission tickets are $5 per person and CASA Champions tickets are $10 per person. Children 2 and under are free. Guests will be able to explore police cars, utility vehicles, a Humvee that was used in Afghanistan, a police helicopter, dump trucks and more. They can also meet K-9 dogs, pet an alpaca, get their face painted and play carnival games.
The Metro Police Bomb Squad, the Berwyn Heights Fire Department Rescue Squad and the CityCrawler Party Bus are just a few of the organizations and companies that will bring vehicles to the upcoming “World of Wheels for CASA” Touch a Truck and Family Festival. Touch a Trucks give children of all ages the opportunity to touch and explore work trucks and vehicles up close. A variety of local businesses and first responders in the area are all joining together to make this a fun-filled event and to raise funds for a worthy cause.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates/Prince George’s County (CASA) which trains volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in the Prince George’s County foster care system. “Over 400 children go through the foster care system each year in our county without someone dedicated to doing what is in their best interest” says Executive Director Ann Marie Binsner. “The World of Wheels for CASA will be a fun event for the community and will allow us to help more of those kids who are waiting for someone to stand up for them.”
