Girls Just Want To … Have Fun and Change the World

Oct. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- MISSISSAUGA, Ont. (October 1, 2012) – What if you could help change the world, just by buying a doll? Now you can, thanks to a new charitable doll line from Playmate Toys called Heart For Hearts Girls, represented in Canada by RP Toys.

Featuring six dolls from around the world, each with a story to share, the current line includes: Nahji from India, Lilian from Belarus, Tipi from Laos, Dell from the United States, Consuelo from Mexico and Rahel from Ethiopia. And while they may not be real girls doing real things themselves, the dolls are certainly inspiring young girls everywhere to make a difference.

“The response to Heart for Hearts dolls has been exceptional,” said RP Toys’ director of marketing Mark Pettifer, noting that the dolls are literally flying off store shelves following their launch in Canada. “This is the feel good toy for the season.  We take great pride in the charitable component to this project and our ability to assist girls in need around the globe.  We are well on our way to meeting, if not exceeding, our sales targets.”

Each authentically dressed Heart For Hearts doll comes with a friendship bracelet and story booklet explaining how her real-world counterpart lives. The stories also come to life on a fully interactive web site that lets girls discover other cultures and hear stories about girls their age who are making an impact in their communities.

The Heart For Hearts doll line and fashion collection is recommended for girls age 6 to 12 and is available at Wal-Mart stores across Canada. A portion of each doll sale is donated to a non-profit organization that helps children in the country represented by the doll.
