Saila Smith attends the fourth annual CLASSY Awards held Saturday, September 22 in San Diego, CA

Oct. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- All the voting and judging culminated in philanthropy's biggest weekend.  This year the CLASSY Awards weekend transformed San Diego into a hub for social impact-uniting over 3,000 like-minded people across three days of opportunities to educate and connect.   Nonprofit leaders and businesses engaging in charitable goods congregated, celebrated and learned from one another, while enjoying all that America's Finest City has to offer.

Saila Smith said that she was very honored to be a part of the event, which featured keynote addresses, open forums, panel speakers, round table discussions, campaign launches and a celebratory happy hour.  “It has been one of the most impactful and inspirational events I have ever attended” stated Saila Smith.  

In all sixteen CLASSY Award winners were announced live on stage.  The awards ceremony provided a platform to share and celebrate the success stories of thousands of non-profit organizations raising awareness that materializes in increased donations, volunteer recruitment and support.

“The collective impact that all of these organizations have reaches into the hundreds of millions of lives across several countries across the globe” Saila Smith added.

Saila Smith was very inspired by this year’s CLASSY Award winners, among them the Global Poverty Project, an education and campaigning organization whose mission is to increase the number and effectiveness of people taking action against extreme poverty.  Another winner is Project C.U.R.E. who’s mission is to identify, solicit, collect, sort and distribute medical supplies and services according to the imperative needs of the world.
