The tattoo industry is defiantly not something to just jump right into. Tattooing is a lifestyle said by many. And that’s very true. Most people that get into tattooing usually have a sizeable background in art as well. Most of these artists have been doing art since they were very little. You have to be very open-minded and art inclined to do this. The stronger you’re artistic since the better tattoo artist you could make. Tattoo artists these days can do some amazing things on skin.

This leads me into my next point. Respect. You will need to respect this industry if you want to be in it. Many artists take their work very seriously. And if you’re looking to enter the field and you start looking for tattoo shops to train in, you same thing. You will have to show the shop respect. Apprenticeships can be a hard a grueling experience before learning to tattoo. If you’re lucky to get an apprentice ship you will have to work very hard to let the boss know you want to be there and are thankful for the chance. Make sure you bring with you on interviews. All of your previous artwork and drawings. Just so the boss can see what you can do. The more work you have the better. Drawing , painting’s, even sketches can show your style to the person you’re looking to work for. Then they will have to decide if it’s worth it to them to take the chance on you. You have to think there usually busy themselves and my not want someone peeking over their shoulder all the time. You will have to be loyal and respectful to get and keep a job.

So if you looking to get into the field of tattooing. Just make sure you plan on taking it serious if you want to get into the profession and do good. Tattooing has really grown in the last decade, and is an extremely profitable career. You can make a good living being a tattoo artist. Just work hard, respect other artists and definite respect your clients, they’re the ones paying your bills in the end. And make sure you last but not least. DRAW, DRAW, DRAW!
