-- Methodist Healthcare is building a new 100-bed hospital in Olive Branch, Mississippi. The Hospital desired to implement geothermal at this facility in order to reduce operating cost, increase efficiencies, and obtain a quiet and comfortable environment that uses sustainable technology. However, the conventional geothermal solution was very large and a tight fit in the available space due to being surrounded by wetlands.
According to Ron Holdaway, Engineer of Record, temperature saturation is one of the biggest risks in geothermal installations. As one of the only products on the market that monitors, plans and makes adjustments for temperature fluctuations, the GeoModule was able to provide a secure low-risk solution. Mr. Holdaway, P.E., C.E.M., LEEDAP is a Senior Design Principal for Smith, Seckman, Reid, Inc.
The new facility, located at the southeast corner of U.S. Highway 78 and Bethel Road, will be a full-service hospital offering emergency services, obstetrics, cardiology, MRI and a diagnostic cardiac catheterization lab.
The new hospital will open its doors in mid-2013.
