European Commission event ‘Improving Transparency in Government Decision-making’ to run on 6 November in Brussels, Belgium

Oct. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- The European Commission and ePractice.eu organise the upcoming eGovernment event “Improving Transparency in Government Decision-making”  (http://www.epractice.eu/en/events/transparency2) on Tuesday 6 November in Brussels to take place at European Commission premises.
This event, an initiative of DG CONNECT aims to discuss how transparency can be improved in government decision making looking at topics such as:
~How can we best measure transparency and its different forms?
~What are the key transparency-related policy measures that might unleash the EU’s potential economic growth?
~What is the role of technology and eGovernment applications as a means to improve transparency?
~What can we learn from Member States' experiences, e.g. what are good examples of how eGovernment improves transparency?
~Suggestions for common transparency targets.
~Barriers for establishing European (or EU-wide) Transparency Objectives.
This free event is intended for Member States, policy-makers, practitioners, public administrations, eGovernment project implementers; stakeholders in FP6 and FP7 research projects; researchers; businesses; European Commission officers as well as businesses and/or citizens interested in transparency at European, national and local levels etc.
Prospective attendees are invited to create an ePractice account (if not a current member) and register their participation by following this link.  Interested parties should bring their passports/ID cards on the day.
