Follow on Google News | Mason County Breathes Easy with Addition of New Testing Equipment at Mason District HospitalMason District Hospital announces the arrival of innovative equipment for lung disease diagnosis. The Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) diagnostic tool detects lung disorders, including asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD).
By: Mason District Hospital The PFT machine includes a clear-sided and spacious cabin testing area, called ‘plethysmography’ “Having the new PFT machine with the clear cabin area will help us perform testing more accurately, faster and more comfortably for our patients. We are really excited about having this ‘gold standard’ for obtaining clinical lung volume data here at Mason District Hospital,” commented Becky Pigg, CRT and Manager for the Cardiopulmonary and Sleep Lab of Mason District Hospital. The Mason District Hospital Auxiliary and Foundation partnered to provide the funding for the VMAX CareFusion equipment along with a grant from the Illinois Department of Public Health.
