-- ABS-CBN Japan Inc. (The Filipino Channel Japan) brought back the festive spirit to a Pinoy tradition amidst the hustle and bustle of Japan as it joined this year’s Barrio Fiesta.
During the September 1 and 2 weekend, TFC Japan welcomed 2,000 Pinoys at the Yamashita Park in Yokohoma with an exciting line-up of actor-singers. Pinoys were excited to see singer-comedienne Giselle Sanchez and singer-actor Ariel Rivera of the upcoming ABS-CBN teleserye Ina, Kapatid, Anak in the Saturday event and Giselle, Ariel, acclaimed actor Christopher de Leon also a singer in his own right) and Concert Queen Pops Fernandez in the Sunday festivities as brought in by Filipino companies in Japan.
In the open door event, Pinoys trooped to the TFC Japan booth to try out its latest products and services. The TFC team in Japan shared a special two-day sale for TFC Japan’s video-on-demand service; freebies for free sign-ups to its official online site TFC.TV and special goodie bags for active TFC subscribers.
Meanwhile, auditions were also held for the first worldwide talent search for Filipinos - TFCkat and as well as for the first production exclusive for Filipinos in the country - Barangay Japan. Live greetings by Filipinos in Japan for their friends and family were also recorded for the ‘pabati portion’ of Barangay Japan which also covered the event.
Other booths also featured other Pinoy delicacies and services such as remittance, bank and real estate.
With the successful return of Barrio Fiesta, Filipinos have something to look forward to again in the coming years.
