Volkswagen Leads Strategic Vision’s 2012 Total Quality Index
The 2012 Eos, Golf, and Tiguan top the Strategic Vision’s index for best consumer value.
Founded in 1989, Strategic Vision, Inc. is unique among statistical and analytics research firms for providing what they term the ValueCentered approach, designed by Dr. Darrel Edwards, expert in psycholinguistics and decision-theory. By first conducting one-on-one interviews with the group in question— vehicle buyers, in this case — Strategic Visions maps motivations and emotions onto various statistics to define a quantifiable emotional response. In the Automotive Total Quality Index, over 45,000 individuals who purchased 2012 model vehicles from September to December in 2011 were analyzed on five main points:
- Ownership satisfaction
- Individual’s appraisal of quality
- Purchase delight
- Future intent
- Emotional attachment to the vehicle
Together, these create a 1,000-point scale that serves as the TQI index; it is designed to represent how effectively an automaker can design a product that consumers love — and Volkswagen has again bested the competition.
