Sept. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Omaha, NE, (September 28, 2012) – The Kim Foundation, the organization leading a Nebraska statewide campaign to spread the word that mental illness is treatable, has announced the launch of a mobile version of the website created for the “Don’t Be Sidelined” public awareness initiative,  The Kim Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of those impacted by mental illness through advocacy, education, and support.

Accessible via any web-enabled phone or smartphone, the mobile website provides information about mental illness, answers to frequently asked questions, resources, and emergency response numbers for those seeking help. The site also recognizes the organizations that have provided support for the campaign.

“Don’t Be Sidelined”, launched in partnership with Husker Sports Marketing and other respected health and human service organizations, made its debut on Saturday, September 1, 2012 during the college football match-up between the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Southern Mississippi.  The campaign will run in conjunction with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln football and basketball seasons.  It features radio spots, in-stadium signage, print advertisements, a Facebook page, a website (, radio interviews, a day at the Husker Nation Pavilion on October 27, 2012 and a presence on

As 1 in 4 Americans suffer from some form of mental illness, the campaign seeks to educate the public that mental illness is a real medical condition that does not discriminate and is more common than most people may think.  Most importantly, the campaign encourages those suffering from a mental illness to seek help.  Resources and informational links are available on the campaign’s website,  

In addition to The Kim Foundation, partners include Bryan Medical Center, Catholic Charities, CenterPointe, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Husker Sports Marketing, Interchurch Ministries of Nebraska, Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska, National Alliance of Mental Illness – Nebraska, National Association of Social Workers – Nebraska Chapter, Nebraska State Suicide Prevention Coalition, and Voices for Children in Nebraska.
