Sept. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- So many people are concerned with body image that they forget there’s a mind that needs special attention as well.  Science is still learning what dietary sources and supplements provide optimal nutrition for our brain, however our emotions and thoughts could also be influencing our health.   Controlling how much stress we let into our lives and how we react to stress could help decrease our risk of chronic disease.

Compromised immunity and an increase of inflammatory responses can deliver a destructive blow to the system and leave one open to infection.  Counter acting our negative responses with certain relaxation techniques, and adding a concentrated antioxidant source such as that found in certain organic teas, can provide an added line of defense in the prevention of chronic disease and reduce oxidative stress.  Dr. Charles Benbrook stated in January 2005 in an Organic Center State of Science Review that, “ The highest concentrations of catechins are present in green tea and chocolate.

Claudia Sanchez believes certain relaxation techniques can also “feed” the body, mind, and health connection.  She uses her skills as a Life Coach Hypnotherapist to help people work through their biggest barriers and live life to the fullest.  She’s gathered experience as a staff member at Clark’s Nutrition Stores and in her group classes where members learn and practice the skills needed to move forward in their careers, or fulfill other parts of their lives.

Those that stick around for the entire broadcast will get a chance to learn about some very special teas that work perfectly with Claudia’s techniques, and have actually been used by different cultures around the world to heal, prevent illness, and energize the mind and body for hundreds and even thousands of years.

If you want to learn more on how these special tea formulas might help you, just tune in Thursday, September 27th at 4:00 pm PST to KCAA 1050 AM on your radio, at KCAARadio.com, or KCAAExpress.com.   Choose to watch (USTREAM) or listen (tunein radio app) to the show.  Listen live from anywhere on your cell phone, computer, or notepad.

The show will begin with Claudia Sanchez teaching listeners and host Elaine McFadden, MPH, RD the first steps of how to focus and make the mind/body connection.  Claudia promises that once you understand and practice these initial techniques, you can begin down a path of relaxation, awareness, and healing.

From Claudia’s experience, she sees stress, “As a form of toxic thinking that affects the body's immune system and how we take in nutrients. Stressful thinking and feelings disturbs digestion not to mention cortisol levels that can then influence body weight.”

So in other words the more time we spend being relaxed, positive, and happy the better it is for our health.  Most of us sense how destructive stress is to our mind and bodies, and yet we still keep ourselves from having the things that will bring us the most happiness.

Utilizing Claudia’s techniques together with the concentrated antioxidant nutrition you get from certain teas, you provide your body with a new level of nourishment and healing.

Incorporating these beverages, made preferably with no added sugar or only raw organic honey, can give people a new option over drug related treatments to sooth the symptoms of living in a stressful world.  By choosing relaxation and quality teas from organic/fair trade companies like Organic India and Numi Tea consumers get the nutrient levels they need to make a difference, and help maintain the sustainability and quality of the product for years to come.  Dr. Charles Benbrook said in our 9-20-12 Smart Health Talk Broadcast that, “organic produce is typically 20-25% higher in antioxidants than conventionally grown produce.”

Fair Trade companies like Numi Tea and Organic India work with the people they do business to improve their lives and help them grow.  Their goal is to build long-term relationships for the future and produce products grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides, and genetically modified ingredients.  Farming practices that can compromise the health of the farm workers and their families when exposed.

Some plants used to produce the tea leaves are even considered sacred to some religious groups and are incorporated into many aspects of their life from eating and drinking to ceremonial.

Numi Tea will also talk about how GMOs, pesticides, and petroleum products can end up in our teacup, and why they chose to become the first North American Non GMO certified tea.

Tune in this week at 4:00 pm PST for Smart Health Talk where Amy Keller, National Education Leader, Organic India Tea, and Brian Durkee, VP of Operations at Numi Organic Tea will provide information on what we do know about some of their special tea blends such as Tulsi, and Pu-erh teas and what tradition has said about them.

Here in the US most of us have been unaware that there are special Tulsi and Pu·erh teas available as an option for improving overall health.  Don’t miss this broadcast and the opportunity to learn some new things that could change your life for the better.  You don’t have to miss a single broadcast because we have podcasts/videos you can listen to 24/7.  Find us on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter under “smarthealthtalk” or just go to SmartHealthTalk.com /listen-live-on-your-cell-phone.html.
