Vapur® Helps DeLuna Fest 2012 Go Green

As the official Hydration Sponsor of DeLuna Fest, Vapur quenched the thirst of over 40k festivalgoers while saving the equivalent of 36,400 disposable bottles from landfills.  DeLuna Fest is a three day music festival, which took place on the sand in Pensacola Beach, FL Sept. 21-23rd, 2012

DeLuna Fest was inspired by Pensacola’s rich heritage, to celebrate America’s original settlement.  Pensacola Beach is where Spanish conquistador Don Tristan De Luna’s settled upon arriving in the Americas in 1559.  After a long and treacherous voyage, De Luna and his crew celebrated on the beach.  Shortly thereafter, a hurricane tore through the settlement and it was the last blowout beach party for several hundred years, until DeLuna Fest revived the tradition.

Vapur was on a quest of its own to help DeLuna Fest go green. Vapur hosted six stations, provided by Event Water Solutions, and helped eliminate disposable water bottles. Vapur offered a special incentive program just for DeLuna attendees.  Any individuals who collected and turned in 10 disposable plastic water bottles to the merchant stations to be recycled received a coupon for $2 off the purchase of Vapur Anti-Bottle. Thousands of Anti-Bottles were sold at the event. As a result, attendees were able to spare the environment and save money, while staying hydrated and healthy throughout the weekend. Vapur also supplied DeLuna’s musicians with Element Anti-Bottles, so they could join in on kicking the disposable bottle habit.

“It was great partnering with the DeLuna Fest to help encourage the use of reusable bottles” said Vapur Co-Founder, Jason Carignan. “We gathered physical evidence of the excessive waste that rigid, disposable bottles create, at alarming rates, with large events such as this. By offering this incentive, we are optimistic that festivalgoers will choose to reduce their impact on the environment by incorporating the Anti-Bottle into their everyday lives.”
