Groesbeck Construction Challenges Quality of Industry

Sept. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA 9 hours ago.  In a bold statement today, Jim Groesbeck, founder of Groesbeck Construction, took issue with the lack of meeting industry standards and outright quality issues.  “My crews and I have seen far too much slackness and plain lack of care to do a decent job, at virtually every phase of construction processes,” he said.  It was obvious that he could have salted a few curse words into his remarks as he continued with “…virtually every area of Los Angeles and the other southern California areas where we have done projects.”
With reality t.v. illustrating many of what has been termed “idiocies”, fire hazards or gross negligence, it seems that most any home may have dangers lurking in walls, floors, ceilings, foundations or roofs.  And the only possible relief being in supervising one’s own construction or renovation after having achieved a general contractor’s license – or being rescued by a reality show hero.  
Jim went on a roll about a contractor and his people often losing sight of being on the customer’s side, of personal pride in doing a top notch job.  He was even heard saying how if you think about it, you can actually feel sorry for such people who do projects only with personal profit in mind, forgetting that the finished home or project will be a place where people live, raise families and make lifetime memories.  Not to mention the fact that this is the one of the key industries supporting the American dream.  
Carrying Jim’s eerie perspective of cut-rate contractors further, it suddenly seemed a sorry life for someone trying to sleep at night year after year knowing they overloaded that electrical, didn’t do that foundation as well as they could have or just plain ignored industry standards on a bathroom installation.
But by now, Jim was onto talking about quality control and challenging any general contractor to live up to the standard of, “…build it as if it’s for your own children and grandchildren!”
Any possible idea that Jim’s attitude and boldness was bravado evaporated in the face of oversight of his own company’s projects, their remarkable quality control processes and even the turn-key client/contractor walk throughs they are famous for at the end of every job.
