Sept. 25, 2012 - PRLog -- OrecX, offering the affordable and easy to install, maintain and use call recording software for ITSPs and call centers, today announced the availability of a new FreeSWITCH recording interface, which allows OrecX Oreka call recording users to record calls through a FreeSWITCH open-source server.

FreeSWITCH is the world's first cross-platform scalable free multi-protocol soft switch.

“mod_oreka is an interesting addition to FreeSWITCH application toolkit,” said Moises Silva, the author of the new interface.  “Now you can leverage the flexibility of the Oreka recording server in your VoIP setups with FreeSWITCH."

“FreeSWITCH is excited to add the new modification to Oreka’s standard distribution,” said Anthony Minessale, founder and lead developer of the FreeSWITCH Project.  “One of the primary goals of the project is to bring great technologies together, and this module adds a powerful new capability for everyone to take advantage of.  I am excited to see what other great things the open source community can make when we work together.”

“With the new FreeSWITCH recording interface, calls from any channel can be intercepted and recorded, including all TDM and VoIP technologies supported by FreeSWITCH,” said Bruno Haas, OrecX co-founder and CTO.  “The recording interface is completely open and based upon standard SIP and RTP messaging.  It is also compatible with the existing Asterisk PBX recording interface developed by Xorcom as a patch.”

"Its contribution as a sponsor of a new feature on FreeSWITCH not only benefits the Oreka customers and the entire Open Source community, but also represents an interesting opportunity to help solve customer problems," said Juan Carlos Bavestrello, CEO of e-Contact. “e-Contact created this module to enhance the process of recording calls from a particular client, but now this interface will be available to benefit all who use it, thus maximizing its processes. We are very pleased about this, especially for the value it generates in the market.”

OrecX offers free open-source recording software (Oreka GPL) and the industry's most affordable, full-featured call recording and quality monitoring solution (Oreka TR), available at about 1/2 the price of competitive offerings.
