-- J K Business School and JK Padampat Singhania Institute of Management &Technology under the aegis of JK Education Foundation held their Convocation for 2010-12 PGDM batch. His Excellency British Deputy High Commissioner Julian Evans presented Diplomas to 80 students including medals to seven meritorious students of 2010-12 batch.
Dr. Raghuvir Singh, Director speaking on the occasion highlighted the major achievements of the Institute during the academic year 2010-12. Wishing success to the outgoing students in future endevour, Dr. Singh said that the Institute has been engaged throughout to prepare future leaders who can both lead and manage well in critical situations. The delivery system and curriculum had been prepared to motivate the students and enhance employability. The institute is actively engaged in the process of implementing its long term vision to become a premier Management Institute and brings faculty from the best of institute in India and globally, he added further.
Declaring the Convocation open, Mr. Govind Hari Singhania, Chairman, JK Education Foundation thanked the highly qualified and dedicated faculty who ably shouldered the task of providing high quality education to the students.
A special Leadership session has been organized for the students. Speaking on ‘Visions for Growth Studies’, Dr. Raghupati Singhania, VC & MD, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd shared his inspiring thoughts on the growth of industries and how to run a successful business. Emphasizing on the importance of vision, he said focused vision creates mental attitude and helps in communicating the idea clearly among the organization. True success cannot be chased and achieved unless there is a clear vision and understanding of the purpose. Vision sets the purpose of communication which is the key to map success of any business. Addressing student’s queries on leadership, Dr. Singhania inspired the budding leaders to follow their pursuit with passion, work hard and with sincerity which is the only mantra for success.
Participating in the Q & A session students raised many issues related to business ethics and values in communicating the vision. Dr. Singhania addressed student’s queries and explained them to focus on quality of products, bringing new product category for consumers and providing prompt service to the fulfillment of consumer’s satisfaction within the ambit of business ethics.
Addressing the gathering, British Deputy High Commissioner, Julian Evans shared his insight on values of leadership, management and innovation. He shared inspirational quotes from famous leaders to encourage students in their future endowment. Innovation is the key to success. International system is changing fast. It’s the ability to innovate that distinguishes between leader and follower, he said. Wishing students good luck for future Evans said at every step management requires leadership, to become leader you need to be innovative. All this involves learning which is indispensable from a leader.
Seven students from both the Schools were awarded gold, silver and bronze medal based on their merit during the session 2012-12. Rickey Rustagi, Gaurav Saini and Sudesh Sharma of JK Business School were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals respectively. Parual Vema and Sumakshi Trishali from JKPs received gold and bronze respectively. While Khushboo Rehan and Shweta Rai of JKPS shared silver medal for their outstanding performance.
