Sept. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- For the second year in a row former and current KMEX-TV employees will get together to reminisce, reconnect, reignite old friendships and start new ones.  This time the reunion celebrates a momentous occasion:  Chanel 34's 50th anniversary!

KMEX-TV started broadcasting on September 30th, 1962, opening the way for other Spanish-language stations and networks in the United States.  Chanel 34 is the flagship station of the Univision Network (formerly SIN-Spanish International Network), the largest, highest rated TV network in the US.

The event will take place on Saturday, October 6th from 5:30 to 9:30 pm at the prestigious Rosenthal Wine Bar in Malibu.

Past and current on-air talent will be in attendance, including some of the most recognizable names in broadcast news.  Noticias 34, is the top rated newscast among Spanish-speaking audiences in Southern California often drawing more viewers than any of the English speaking news shows.

"KMEX is like a second home not only to its millions of viewers, but also to the many people both in front of and behind the cameras.  Some of the people who got together last year had not seen each other in years, and yet it was as if we had just had lunch together.  Some faces are new, but others have been there for decades.  This anniversary is a matter of pride for all of us." - Said Esther Preciado Garcia, one of the event's organizers.
