Chen Language Services, LLC Presented the Asian Culture & issues to the NC Justice Center

Sept. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Chen Language Services, LLC a Raleigh based language translation company, presented the Asian Culture and the issues faced by Asian Americans to the North Carolina Justice Center to help the Asian community to improve their rights in the working environment. The NC Justice Center believes everyone deserves fair treatment, regardless of race, ethnicity, or country of origin. Unfortunately, immigrants are often excluded from some programs that offer legal services to low-income people. And because they may lack access to legal protections, immigrants are more likely to become victims of abuse by unscrupulous businesses and employers. Asian Americans are faced with issues such as racial discrimination, consumer’s right & legal unmet, safety, language barrier, values, and differences in the culture. Mary Chen has over 20 years of experience in translation and interpretation, both in China and the United States. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from China and a Master’s degree in Child Development from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. Ms. Chen possesses an extensive understanding of Asian cultures and she is often called to represent the Asian community. She teaches businesses about the cultural differences and strategies for interacting successfully with their Asian employees and clients. Mary Chen is hoping to improve the well- being of the Asian Americans in the workforce and promote acceptance and understanding of immigrants and immigrant communities in North Carolina.
